Tax Assistance

*Notice: Due to COVID-19, our free tax preparation services are closed for the season. Please call our taxline at 209-268-6232 for the most up-to-date recorded information. The IRS and FTB have extended deadlines to July 15th. There are free self-prepare online tax portals as well as a new virtual assistance program run by certified IRS VITA volunteers through getyourrefund.org

During tax season, our IRS Certified Volunteers are here to prepare and file your taxes free if your household earns $54,000 or less and you have a simple* return.

We offer three ways to help you get your taxes filed:  1.) Schedule an in-person appointment with our IRS Certified Volunteer Tax Preparers, or 2.) Schedule a confidential and secure drop-off appointment wit our IRS Certified Intake Specialists. 3). Schedule a virtual appointment with a certified preparer.

Want to Download forms and checklists?  Learn more about Earned Income Tax Credit?  Need to find useful tax-related information? Use the links below to begin.

*Our volunteers provide free basic tax return preparation with electronic filing.  There may be some tax situations that may be beyond the scope of our volunteers.
